Editor-in-Chief (RPS Pharmacy & Pharmacology Reports)
Salary: Honorarium and editorial office support via the Publisher
Contract: 3-year term (renewable twice, maximum term of 9 years)
Hours: Estimated 4-6 hours per week
RPS Pharmacy and Pharmacology Reports, launched in 2022, is the newest gold open access journal from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, published by Oxford University Press, and is a venue for quality work across all areas of pharmacology, pharmaceutics and interfacing areas of science. RPSPPR builds on and complements the pharmaceutical sciences content published in its sister journal, Journal of Pharmacy & Pharmacology (JPP).
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief who understands the impact that a high-quality open access journal can have on improving knowledge and practice in the pharmaceutical sciences and with a strategic vision to build the next chapter of the journal. The successful candidate will be the ambassador of RPS Pharmacy and Pharmacology Reports (RPSPPR) in the pharmacy, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, and microbiology communities.
RPSPPR is focused on publishing free to read high-quality research that is scientifically accurate and may not always apply the same criteria for novelty and impact that may be a factor in acceptance decisions for JPP. The Editor-in-Chief will report to RPS but have full independent responsibility for the Journal’s content and strategy, with support from their appointed Editorial Board as well as teams at RPS and the publishing partner Oxford University Press.
